CULTURE OF BUDDHISM TOUR
Day 1. Drive to Amarbaysgalant Monastery
The Amarbayasgalant Monastery was built between 1727 and 1736, it is one of the very few monasteries to have partly escaped the destruction of 1937, after which only the buildings of the central section remained. The monastery was originally built to house the remains of Zanabazar.
Day 2. Orkhon Mountain
In the morning we will drive to Orkhon Mountain in Bulgan province of Mongolia. It is located about 85km directly west of Bulgan city. Then we will drive to Erdenet city which is the second biggest city.You can do hiking in the mountain. Stay overnight in a nomadic family’s ger or tent camping.
Day 3. Drive to Ugii Lake
Ogii Lake which is 25 km long and 5.3 km wide 15.3 meter deep fresh water lake. Lake is known for its fish.
Day 4. Arrive at the Tsenkher hot –spa.
Tsenher is a natural hot spring flows out whole year from the ground at 85 Celsius degree; country's second hottest, in mountainous Central Mongolia. It is located 1860m a.s.l. The spring comes out from far deep part of the ground and its water is not mixed with soil waters because it is hot. The water has high mineral content and containing everything from simple calcium, sodium to sulphuric. Folklore claimed medical value some of this springs have. The spring produce water that is good for health reasons and water is effect for joints, nerve system and considered good for many other diseases. Sometimes, people drink the water for diabetes and stomach ulcer and disabilities.
Day 5. Tuvkhun monastery
We will drive to Tuvkhun monastery. Tuvkhun is one of most beautiful monasteries and was built in a beautiful setting on the top of the mountain between large rock cliffs, surrounded by dense forests. It is located in Bat-Ulziit a small town of Uvurkhangai province and elevated at 2300 meters above sea level. The monastery was established by the Bogd Gegeen Zanabazar who founded the Mongolian school of religious art. Stay overnight in a tent camping.
Day 6. Drive to Orkhon waterfall.
After breakfast, we will drive to Orkhon Waterfall. On the way we will have picnic for Lunch. After arrive at the waterfall we will enjoy spectacular view of the waterfall and surrounding area, where we will have chance to take some beautiful photo shots of Orkhon Waterfall. Height of waterfall is 20m and width is 10m. It’s originated by volcanic eruption and earthquake over 20000 years ago. And prepare for horse riding.
Day 7. Orkhon valley
Free day. After breakfast visit a yak herder’s family. Learn about their unique lifestyle and culture. There is an opportunity to ride a horse.
Day 8. Drive to Kharkhorin
We will drive to Kharkhorin where the oldest and one of the most attractive monasteries Erdene Zuu locates. On the way to Kharkhorin we will have lunch in the local restaurant. The Erdenezuu monastery was established in 1585 by Abtai Sain King and built by Mongolian, Tibetan, and Chinese architects.
Day 9. Drive to Mongol sand dune.
After breakfast we will drive to Mongol sand dunes where semi desert, Rocky Mountains, small lake etc…, beautiful landscape. We are going to ride camels and hike around the sand dunes. We can possibly see the sunset brilliantly in the area.
Day 10. Lun Village
Khustai national park to watch wild horses Takhi, widely known as “Prejevalski horse”. Przewalski horses are the only wild horse to survive in modern times.
The species were returned to Mongolia from world zoos and reserves within Khustai National Park. Khustain Nuruu has good vegetation, springs, birch forest and rocks which are suitable for many wild animals including 46 species of mammals and 172 species of birds.
