6 Day Gobi Tour I booked my tour, around 4-5 days before I actually arrived. I can't imagine how annoying this must have been, because it was all very sudden, but Hogy was very accommodating about it. She was also easy to contact the entire time, from actually booking the tour and until the tour started, which was very reassuring! The tour itself was amazing. But it's the other extra stuff that really lets you know Hogy wants you to have the best experience possible. She arranged for free pick-up and drop off at the airport, as well as providing me with a local SIM card and also took me to a place where I could exchange currency at good rates (I heard not every tour company does these things, some friends who went with other companies had to do this themselves, which can be difficult in a new country!). I also made a few special requests, which were not part of my itinerary, which was to see the Genghis Khan Statue and to visit a Gobi Cashmere shop. All these little requests were well accommodated. I didn't stay at the guesthouse, but the tour was excellent. My guide and driver were both very fun, and they made sure I was entertained, especially because I was travelling alone. Both were knowledgeable and kept me laughing throughout. The sights of the Gobi of course, were amazing. During the evenings, we'd rest in our gers and we would play cards and chat about Mongolian culture. I also liked that each time we moved to a different ger, we would say hello to the host family, as this would make for fun conversation. Once again, it was an unforgettable experience, and I was 100% satisfied! I highly recommend Gobi Attractions and would go with them again for my next Mongolia trip.

FAQ

Below are the answers to some of the questions we get asked the most often, please have a look if your questions are already there, if not feel free to email us to [email protected]

1. When is the best time to come to Mongolia?

May to October is the best season, with the high season in July for the Naadam Festival. August and September are also suitable months of the year, our climate is such that you will still have many sunny days at this time. June and October are the most colorful month of the year. If you like the cold season and if you would like to get totally different feeling December is also a good month with winter fun.

2. Is Mongolia a safe destination?

Mongolia has one of the lowest crime rates in the world and people are known for their nomadic hospitality and kindness and they will make you feel very welcome. But when you are in the street in Ulaanbaatar city, you have to watch your bag and wallet unless there are many pickpockets around. It is a city.

3. What should I bring with me?

Warm and thin layers of clothing, waterproof jacket, good walking boots, sandals, and a hat and/or headscarf to protect you from the sun and winds. Don’t forget insect repellent, sun cream, lip-gloss and first aid kit (medicine for headache, cold, diarrhea, runny nose; bandages; any medicine prescribed for you ) and camera equipment.
